From Robyn’s Students
Dear Robyn,
I want to take a moment to put in writing my observations and gratitude for all the wonderful work you do on our behalf. I have virtually no knowledge of Pilates, but a great deal of experience with teachers, and you have shown yourself to be at the very top of a wonderful group of professionals.
Sharing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to the activity while we execute, enables mindfulness I have never experienced.
I am continually impressed (as well as relaxed and motivated) by your choice of words as you narrate the exercises. You only use the most positive uplifting, elegant words: enjoy, engage, comfort, find what’s best for you, personalize. Somehow, you make clear but general comments such that one does not feel “corrected,” but rather headed more directly to success! You emphasize safely and self-care in your approach to our bodies. You urge us to do what is comfortable and feels safe. You gently and skillfully nudge us and lead us forward to be the best we can be.
With gratitude,
Joyce DeFrancesco

Hi Robyn,
Thanks so much for the invite to the Brodie Park Zumba session this week!
What a surprise —-
—I had no idea what was involved.
Little did I know that my Chair Pilates leader was also a highly experienced Dance Instructor/Choreographer and was offering a MASTER CLASS in Zumba and stylized movement.
Watching all those primary Pilates ‘moves’ from our Chair Pilates classes being orchestrated and composed into such delightful and joyous dance art was nothing short of unique and amazing!
I can’t recall seeing a group of folks having so much FUNNNN…in a long long time.
It was the “too deep end of the pool” for me personally, but I really appreciated the experience you shared.
Sincerely,
Fenton Williams
Robyn Centrella is the best exercise instructor I’ve ever had. She is incredibly creative and each exercise class is different. It is also specifically tailored to the needs of the participants. This creativity combined with the pleasing music she chooses creates an excellent, uplifting effect.
Her natural tact and smiling, upbeat demeanor allow a real sense of community to be established.
All in all, I would recommend her most highly.
Thanks Robin,
I admire your faith, uplifting presence, energy, and how well you lead and manage classes of such diverse abilities, always making things different and interesting.
Thank you!
Since I’ve been doing Senior Chair Pilates, my 82-year-old creaky, squeaky body works better and faster and I have improved strength. My knees work better (I have severe osteoarthritis arthritis) and I keep moving my cortisone shots forward every month as I don’t need them. My last shots were in April of 2013.
I can stand up and sit down in class without holding on and can do this all eight times. That was impossible when I started. I do exercise at home, but there is room for improvement.
Balance is still an issue, but that has improved also. My flexibility has increased and needs more improvement. Overall, I feel better today than I did in April when I started Chair Pilates.
I enjoy the physical benefit I get and the comradery is essential also. I have much of that!!!
Thanks,
Cathie Buxton
This picture is my husband and I at Machu Picchu, 8,000 ft. above sea level. This was a bucket list item for me. Climbing this area can be very scary. No guard rails, steps that are 3 feet high and very uneven terrain. Then there is the altitude, which can make you light headed and weak. I believe that taking Robyn’s Pilates class for the last year made me physically able to do the trip. I’m 63 years old and feel great. Thanks to Robyn and her great class I climbed Machu Picchu!!!!

She is a serious and dedicated instructor, and her reliability and integrity are above question. She continues to draw a consistent and loyal following and all the feedback that I have received has been very positive as to the benefits gained from taking her class.
Robyn is an excellent instructor because she constantly cues her students and tells the group whether a particular move is ‘beginner,’ ‘intermediate,’ or ‘advanced.’ Robyn goes slowly so that one can recover from each Pilates movement before proceeding to the next. Also, she informs the group as to what part of the body is being worked.
As an added benefit, Robyn is very knowledgeable about her field and provides her clients with printed copies of research on health-related issues.
Her teaching is of the highest level, her dedication to her students is a total commitment, at the same time she brings so much pleasure and joy while we benefit from the exercises.
Hooked on Robyn’s Pilates.
More difficult to quantify, but equally important, is Robyn’s genuine, caring, personal interest in each member of her classes. We, as a group, were encouraged to push ourselves to limits we might not have achieved without her kindness and personal attention.
In short, she is extremely talented, knowledgeable, professional, and dependable and would make an invaluable contribution to any organization.
I can only begin to sing the praises of her instruction methods. She intuitively connects with each one of her students and helps us connect with our body. I have never felt so good about my body and the “power within.” In classes we all have our own weaknesses, and she is very careful to help us, protect ourselves from injury as well as strengthen that which we can. At 52 I feel better about myself than when I was 22. I have never felt so strong and flexible.
Robyn’s talents are a blessing to all of us. I feel so fortunate to be able to go to her classes. For me, the truly amazing fact is that I know I will continue to exercise, and following her training methods, I will continue to enjoy it as well!
